Times for Solway Raceway, Sun 17th May 2026
AFTER 8 YEARS IT WAS GOOD TO BE BACK AT SOLWAY RACEWAY KIRKBRIDE, THE BONUS HERE BEING THE FANTASTIC FOOD AT THE “WHITE HEATHER”, probably the only place in the country making proper chips!!!
As usual there was a good turn out of competitors on both days, NSCC along for 2 more rounds of their championship.
NSCC SATURDAY
A 9 car field whittled down to the final. Shaun Wilson in his daily driver Audi made it through after a no show from Gary Leece and Ian Walley beat Nick Gunby. Ian took the final with a 10.37sec run, Shaun giving it his best shot.
NSCC SUNDAY
This time Ian met up with Shaun in the semi, a rerun of Saturday’s final, Ian going through. Scott Pressland beat Andrew Errington to join Ian. Come the final and Scott got on the throttle a tad too soon and put a cherry on the tree handing Ian the win.
TOP BIKE
It was first time at Kirkbride for Peter Slater but his fearless riding style saw him get a best 9.99sec run taking the class win.
RACE LEGENDS
Bob Hancox took the class win on his Suzuki.
NO MERCY BIKES
First semi saw Gill Pacey take the win with a red light for Gilbert Cook. Rob Briers went through, Ashley Hodgson with a broken bike not making it.
Come the final and Gill with the advantage on the tree was away Rob trying too hard with nitrous power spinning up the rear tyre, Gill taking a well deserved win.
NO MERCY SCOOTERS
There was a great first semi Stephen Holt getting the better of Eric Cope and Jamie Lawn beating Mike Pacey.
In the Vespa versus Lambretta final Stephen got the job done with a 13.90sec run on a 13.80sec dial in.
JUNIOR BIKE
Alfie Barraclough had his first win at Kirkbride, his best time of the weekend a 16.70sec run.
JUNIOR SPRINT CAR
Toby Jackson got more seat time getting used to the new 250cc Kawasaki geared engine progressing to a 17.60sec best run.
RWYB
Jimmy Fearn, formally known as Junior!!!, took the fastest time of the weekend on his BMW 1000R with a 9.73sec run at 140mph and that on his very first run, impressive stuff.
Chucky Finster was quickest car in his mix and match Astra, turbo Saab engine and Audi 4WD system, running 10.32sec at 136mph.
Thanks to everyone who came along and those who helped with fencing etc hopefully it won’t be too long before we’re back.
