 TOP BIKE saw Phil Wood, after sorting a broken oil union and front wheel puncture on Saturday, set a new PB on a bye run to the final, to line up against Peter Slater in the final. What a final with neither riders front tyres touching the tarmac for much of the run Phil cutting a fine green to just edge Peter at the stripe.

 NOSTALGIA PRO STOCK paid another visit to Melbourne with Kev Melling determined to lower his PB but on Saturday was thwarted by the bike hooking left badly. Adjustments saw Kev with a new PB on his first Sunday run just 0.01sec outside the wheel driven bike track record, a nice 5.444sec. Kev made it to the final against Steve Howe who’d ended up just a fraction behind in qualifying times but sadly Kevs clutch gave problems in the burn out so giving Steve the win.

LEGENDS had a surprised Phil Watson beat Colin Fallows in his semi to line up against Bob Hancox, Bob taking the win.

 NO MERCY BIKES

 A great effort by Rob Kneeshaw knocking out some formidable opposition along the way to meet up with Phil Tomlinson who went through on a bye in his semi. Once again Rob was on it but Phil got a better reaction time, the pair crossing the line wheel to wheel not knowing who’d won, the win going to Phil, Rob having broken out by 3/1000ths of a second!!!!

 NO MERCY SCOOTERS

  The final ended up Vespa versus Rotax Lambretta, Jamie Lawn pushing Steven Holt to a breakout and Jamie just 6/1000ths inside his dial in, another close call.

JUNIOR BIKE

 Alfie Barraclough bravely got back on his bike for a tentative run on Saturday evening after his previous meeting accident so decided he was fit to give it a go on Sunday. He lined up in the final against William Mountford. Running a 13.41sec dial in he ran a 13.424sec but it was William who took the trophy.

  Grace Sleath was having a fantastic weekend running in NSCC as well and doing a great job for someone so young. First to fall was Bob Molden pushed into a breakout but in the next all ladies battle it was seasoned racer, but not in her regular car, Sara Unsworth, who pushed Grace to a breakout. Tyler Smith went through on a bye narrowly beating Sara in the final.

 All weekend in NSCC the formbook was turned upside down with some brilliant duels, Saturday seeing James Murray taking the spoils edging past perpetual winner, Ian Walley, in the final feet of the run.

 Come Sunday and Rob Carter, a previous STREETWEEKEND  winner, deciding to pit the Passat against the NSCC bunch. Semi’s saw that young lady Grace Sleath attempt another giant killing act but it was not to be against Rob who promptly established the best ever NSCC time, a magnificent 5.388sec run.

 Next up was a rematch between James and Ian with James scorching to a new PB, 6.273sec to Ian’s losing 6.298sec, as you can imagine that was one hell of a race.

 The final then was Rob and James but Rob was in no mood to be beaten getting a bit out of shape through the beams close to the chequer boards.

 EUROPEAN FRONT WHEEL DRIVE

 Luke Stevens brought along this class for the first time to MELBOURNE, this being the 2nd round of their championship, and what a show these ten competitors put on with their big horsepower turbo motors, 850hp mentioned which is crazy for front wheel drive!!!!

 10 cars lined up in round 1 with runs in the 7 to 9 second bracket, Karl Monks establishing the class record with a mindblowing 6.922sec run. In the final Karl lined up alongside Liam Meadowcroft, Karl just edging Liam to take his first MELBOURNE win, needless to say the class is keen to come back to Melbourne.

 AMERICAN SUPERSTOCK once again joined us Tyler Smith posting some good numbers on his way to the final against regular finalist Glyn Dunford. Glyn didn’t quite have the reaction time of Tyler and that was where it was won and lost, Tyler took it.

 PRO COMP

  Marcin Szwed beat Nick Wilson in his semi with Duncan Beard going through on a bye. The final was an epic battle with Duncan coming out on top.
