“19 RECORDS ESTABLISHED AND 4 BROKEN IN 2-R-A, TWO RUN AVERAGE ”
3 days of head winds held speeds down but records were set to be broken in the future.
Andy Bush, TM Maverick 125, improved on an already established record at the mile and establishing at the 1.25mile.
Trevor Duckworth established 4 records in the Cyclecar 1300cc class in his Hudson Free Spirit just cracking the 100mph at the 1.25mile.
Adie Horrocks set the 175cc scooter record at the mile and standing half mile but didn’t manage to improve on his 250cc records.
Adrian Reynard was mighty impressive on his 250 turbo APS-BF-250 class streamliner setting records of 164.9mph at the mile, 169mph at 1.25mile and 159.052mph for the flying quarter mile.
Martiny Roland on his SCS- AG- 250 Sidecar running a 250cc 2 stroke twin engine to set a 98.4mph record at 1mile and 98.5mph at 1.25mile.
Chris Hawkshaw established records with 117.4mph mile, and 116.9mph at 1.25mile on his 750 Triumph.
Paul Taylor set records on his Suzuki 1000 with 170.6mph mile and 171.5mph at 1.25mile.
Paul Milbourn improved on his previous 1.25 mile record.
All the way from Germany Peter Scheepers ran his turbo Hayabusa in P – BG – 1350 with a personal best run of 217.13mph at 1.25mile and he was just shy of the 200mph two run averages mark with 199mph and 199.1mph at mile and 1.25mile.
Neither Jack Frost or Phillipe Le Peru could improve on the M – BF – 1350 record at the mile or 1.25mile, the wind putting paid to that, but remarkably they both ran a best speed of 255.997mph at the mile. Jack improved on his flying start quarter mile record with 254.381mph and the standing half mile record increasing it to 229.890mph.
Becci Ellis was just 0.12mph shy of the 1mile record in MPS – BG – 1350.
Mark Foster on the Electric Monowheel was unable to improve on his mile record.
Jack Taylor and Alfie Barraclough established 3 records in Junior Sidecar up to 125cc 4-Stroke.
