1/4MILE SHOOTOUT
FWD
1st semi saw Ian Milne throw away his chance with a red light letting Lewis Simpson through to the final.
2nd semi and Colin Landsborough went through, John Elliot a no show.
In the final Colin read the green light to perfection but Lewis hauled him back in and took the win.
RWD
Richard Mawdsley took first semi Paul Dixon not coming to the line.
2nd semi and Rob Osbourne did a great job to beat Kenneth Coote, who’d had to sort an oil leak to make it to the line.
In the final Rob Osbourne lit up the tyres in the BMW at the green in an effort to beat Richard Mawdsley but the ultra light Atom had the legs to take the win.
AWD
In the first semi it was Andrew Speck, BMW M3, against Jeff Ludgate, Nissan GTR, but Jeff had a clutch problem he was nursing hoping it would stand up but in the end it was Andrew who got the verdict.
2nd semi and it was Paul Murray, driving the same BMW as Andrew, up against Simon Paul, GTR, a great effort by both drivers with Paul getting the win.
It was quandary time as the 2 finalists were sharing the one car so the winner was decided on who had put up the quickest time in the semi’s with Andrew the winner, the margin being 2/100ths of a second, 9.44 secs to a 9.46 secs for Paul.
All in all an excellent days competition with good weather and a good crowd to witness the 22nd running of this event which has truly stood the test of time.
Massive thanks to WOSSNER and all the hard working crew, medics and helpers all the smiles and feedback make the hard graft of setting up and taking it all back down again worthwhile.
