Times for Melbourne Finals, Sun 5th October 2025
“JETS AND ROCKETS BRING THE MELBOURNE SEASON TO A BRILLIANT FINALE ”
Julian Webb, “Spiderman” jet car, brought the season to an end with an awesome 3.999sec run, Julian’s goal for the weekend achieved much to the delight of everyone who witnessed it.
It was a fitting end to a weekend blighted by hurricane Amy, wet weather having a say in track set up on Friday and a late start on Saturday, the hours of available running not really affecting things too much, Phil Wood making a flying visit to ride Force of Nature. Saturday night saw Aaron Windridge altered starting off the entertainment with a Nitro fuelled Cackle.
Roger Goring’s Firestorm then continued the entertainment with a great Flame and Thunder show, Lee Dennick having last minute battery lead problems so unable to join in. It was then the turn of Graham “Steam Rocket ” Sykes to set off the magnificent firework display ably assisted by Shaun “Pyro” Walker and Colin “The Fyfer” Miller. The band “Bite the Bullet ” entertaining the large crowd in the clubhouse.
Scooters No Mercy
Eric Cope beat Stephen Holt, and Adie Horrocks beat Mike Pacey to make it a Lambretta versus Vespa final. Eric got his usual lightening start and took the win.
Juniors
Alfie Barraclough pushed Toby Jackson into a breakout in the first semi final and a double breakout saw Jet Jackson getting the verdict against Maisie Thornton. It was close in the final with an ever improving Jet just getting beaten by Alfie.
Junior Elite
Jack Taylor got the verdict in a close run to the line against William Mountford.
Junior Sprint Car
Dexter Wilson took a bye to the final after a no show from Charlie Wilkinson who’d comprehensively blown up his engine and Jude Elliott got the better of Jake Little. It was a double breakout in the final with Jude breaking out by the least amount to take the win.
660 Cars
Sara Unsworth beat Euan Betts driving dad Mark’s car and Dave Coombes got the better of Pete Eborall. In the final Dave let the clutch out way too early for a red giving Sara the win.
No Mercy Bikes
With a 16 bike field there were some great runs in the eliminations with various red lights and breakouts along the way. The final saw Ashley Hodgson, who’d beaten Carl Mountford in his semi, line up against Nic Deighton who beat Phil Tomlinson in his semi. Both cut perfect green lights with Nic just getting the win.
6 Second
As usual it was close in qualifying with 100ths between the top qualifiers. Jamie Brookes qualifying number 1 and beat Phil Tomlinson to meet Maxine Taylor who’d beaten Chris Jacobs in her semi. Maxine got a slight advantage at the start but Jamie’s turbo power reeled in Maxine who was pushed into a breakout going under 6 seconds by 1/1000th of a second giving the win to Jamie.
Legends
Colin Fallows took the win against Richard Orgorzalek.
Pro Comp Cars
Ian Lee got a bye to the final with Marcin Szwed going through beating Duncan Beard. Ian took the win edging Marcin just before the stripe.
Bracket Bonanza Cars
7 cars took part in the winner takes all competition. Craig Elliott beat Simon Swarbrick to line up against Bob Molden who’d despatched Tyler Smith. Consistent as ever Bob took a popular win to beat Craig.
