New this year was bringing the start line back to the military boundary sign which made it better for spectators and competitors alike.
Sand conditions dictated the track length running 1/4 mile and 1/2 mile on Saturday and 500 metres and kilometre on Sunday, the half mile and kilometer the only distances previously used so records to be established in the other distances by the various classes and plenty of Run What You Brung competitors going for personal bests.
Saturday saw 191 runs in total with fastest on the day Tony Colston on posting 116.284mph at the 1/4 mile and 151.476mph at the 1/2 mile, much to his surprise, with Terry Smith, the original ” Sand Meister “, 2nd quickest on 114.747mph and 151.258mph 1/2 mile.
